Wow... Its been a while... Over a year since my last post. Time to fill you all in I guess.

Work got really busy from July onwards, being a chef in Newcastle sucks... people quit and there is a massive lack of people in the industry... I was working my ass off. Then came October... relationship breakdown and all my tiny little toys ended up in a box stored away until now.

Resigned from my job, so I am no longer working 60-70 hours a week. I have alot of spare time to get everything finished lol.... There is alot of work to do.
Here are photos of stuff I could be bothered taking photos of... There is a fair bit more lol... Some fantasy armies too hahaha... but I will focus on getting my 40k sorted first :P

Well I decided that it would be a good idea to get a lift into town with my girlfriend as she starts at 8, hoping that I only have to wait at my local store until it opens at 9:30... I totally forgot that it opens at 10 on weekends LOL. Lucky I brought my copy of fulgrim with me. Time for Coffee and some reading while I wait :P

Well I finally pulled apart my He'Stan model and converted him up as a librarian with a plasma pistol. I think he is pretty cool lol :P Cant wait to paint him.

I really want to say that I have been too busy to post... but I have just been lazy the past couple weeks.
I have been converting and base coating my death guard marines though, and they should be finished in a week or so if I keep on painting at the speed that I am painting them :P

I have not got much painting done this month. Most of the time lately I have been at work, and if I'm not at work I'm either at the pub, resting, cleaning or spending time with my girlfriend. If I'm not doing any of those I'm usually at my local GW store.... and only painting on rare occasions while there.

I really need to have an army painted up for when Planet Strike comes out..... so much to do in so little time lol (little time? more like 2-3 months worth of it ha ha ha).

Meh.... I'll sort it out soon.... for now though..... sleep time :)

Ministorum Priests

I have always liked the Empire Warrior Priest model so thats why I have converted one up to make a Ministorum Priest with an Eviscerator... now I need more ideas to make more.... I may have to hit up the Necromunda range, the Redeemer and Redemptonist gang look pretty cool... or I could just buy the Imperial Guard Missionary....

Traitor Guard Photos

Just some random photos of my traitor guard legion. The photo above is a mix of my infantry command and veteran squad (both squads has changed a bit since this photo had been taken, veterans and command have a red shoulder pad now, just to add a bit of diversity in the army).

There are a couple more squads and vehicles in the army but I have not been bothered to take pictures yet lol.

Vulkan He'Stan no more....

I'm no longer going to use my Vulkan He'Stan model as himself, seeing that there will be a proper one released with the Planet Strike expansion.

So when the new mini comes out I will turn my converted He'Stan into a librarian for my Salamanders. So I wont paint him just yet, and I will replace the "gauntlet" with a bolt pistol or something, when the time is right :P

Traitor Guard: Penal Troopers

I had a crack at converting up some penal troopers for my traitor guard army. Their rules seem pretty cool in the new guard codex, and it would be pretty cool to have some crazy released criminals fighting in my traitor army.

I had some Plague Zombies from when I was using the Eye of Terror codex and I just gave them some spare lasguns (their claws and teeth will be counted as close combat weapons for the knife fighters special rule). I have also mixed up some empire flagellants, catachan guardsmen, and chaos marauders to make the other squad.

(Check out the ghoul head on the custodian in the zombie squad, its totally invasion of the body snatchers "pod people" style lol. Screaming and pointing).

My orders have arrived.... EEEEFFFFF YEAH!!!

My order finally arrived. I can now start my Salamander Battlefleet, starting with my Battle barge, strike cruisers, destroyers and frigates. Hopefull I will be able to play a game with them soon :P

Also I received Typhus (the character, not the disease lol) for my chaos space marine army and a limited edition space marine veteran sergeant..... which I should try to keep in the box... but he looks so damn cool lol.

Master of the Fleet on Deck

After years of wanting to start up a BFG fleet I have ordered a small fleet from GW direct :P
Starting with

A Battle Barge
3x Strike Cruisers
4x Hunter Class Frigates
4x Gladius Class Frigates

I know these dont make up a kick ass fleet yet... this is just for fun..... for now :P

These will be a fine addition to my Salamanders :P

Well all I have done today is house cleaning and getting these blogs organised. I have updated three different armies today :P My Salamanders, Ultramarines and my Chaos armies. Hopefully I'll will be able to keep them all up to date :P I only have two shifts at work this week so I have no excuse for not getting any painting done :D :D for now tho...... I think its bedtime.

New Recruits!!

I found some new recruits for my Salamanders army. They are from what was going to be my Ulltramarine's 4th company.... now they will join the ranks as Vulkan's finest.

Including:
3 more Tactical squads.
Devistators.
Command Squad.
Chaplain.
Chapter master.
Servitors.
And a Master of the Forge.

I'm not going to start painting these until my original 1000pts is finished.... hopefully

Ultramarines: Courage and Honour

Pffffft..... Ultramarines. I was one of those people who chose to start an Ultramarine army for their first Space Marine army..... lol. There was no way I was going to make a army based on the second company (even though both the Medusa 5 and the newer version Sicarius minis are awesome, I still dont think I would start a second company army), I even thought about doing fourth company (pre Uriel Ventris) using Captain Idaeus instead.

But who could resist the awesomeness of Terminators in Tactical Dreadnought Armour, Tyranic War Veterans (sternguard now I suppose), Vanguard, Venerable Dreadnoughts and Landraiders.

I started this army when I first got back into painting and playing and I had not heard of the Dark Angels Deathwing until I had already finished painting them. Since then I have added a couple new squads including a vanguard squad and a sternguard squad.

I will be planning on using this army mostly for Apocalypse, but if I do use them in smaller games I usually just use the Deathwing rules.

This apocalypse army consists of:
2 Ten man Vanguard Squads with jump packs.
1 Ten man Vanguard Squad without jump packs.
1 Ten man Tyranic War Veteran Squad (used as Sternguard now).
1 Five man Sternguard Squad.
1 Seven man Assault Terminator Squad.
4 Five man Terminator Squads.
1 Venerable Dreadnought.
2 Land Riders
1 Captain Agemman
1 Standard in terminator armour (when using as deathwing).
1 Apothacary in terminator armour(when using as deathwing).

Vulkan He'Stan Part II

I changed He'Stan a bit. Changing the flamer bits on his gauntlet to green stuff nozzles. I also green stuffed vents to the top of his helmet and made a new loincloth and the Kesare's Mantle attached at the backpack.

Im getting close to start painting... I might work on adding some more details... but I have not really thought it out properly yet :P

Its taken over a week and I have finally put these pictures up. The Boltgun metal and Chaos black has been painted. The metallics have also been washed. Now its time to detail.

Salamanders vs Chaos Daemons 1W/0D/0L

Well my first game with the army went ok. Pitched battle, Annihilation, 1850pts Chaos Daemons vs 1500pts Salamanders. 40k on hard mode.

Lucky for me the Daemon army lost a couple squads (Daemonettes, a character of some sort and Bloodletters) due to the Deep Strike Mishap Table.

I added another 500pts on top of my original list for that game (A Thunderfire Cannon. An Ironclad Dreadnought armed with 2x HK missles and a heavy flamer. And finally a squad of the Legion of the Damned with a power weapon, plasma pistol, flamer and heavy flamer).

My Librarian did help alot with his Null Zone and Force Dome powers. Knocking around the Daemon's invulnerable saves with the re-rolls for passed checks and giving my combat squads a handy invulnerable for the combat with the Bloodletters.

He'Stan did his part and lasted throughout the whole game (with one wound remaining). He had survived an assault from a squad of Bloodletters and the Skull Taker (is that his name?). His chapter tactics came in handy too, the master-crafted thunder hammers, twin-linked meltas/flamers/heavy flamers did help out.

The thunderfire cannon did what I wanted it to do.... let off a barrage, thin out some numbers and then become a big target for the enemy's next turn (it took the heat off my other units lol).

Soul Grinders..... lucky it immobilized itself on some difficult terrain.... saved me from getting smashed in the CC, but still its Tongue and Phlegm attacks really hurt my tactical marines.

I really am not going to brag about winning a battle against 1850pts of Daemons, it ended up being pretty even game (almost lol) when those units were destroyed in the first "deployment" deep strike.

I have a new found respect for Daemon players, it seems like a really hard army to use.

Tactical Squad Part III

The wash is dry :P Now its time to start painting the gaps in the armour and all the metallics.
For metal I just use Bolt gun metal then I wash it with a Badab black wash... easy as :P

Games night tomorrow, I'll try to get a couple games in with them, maybe tweek the list. Hopefully I wont need to. 1000pt lists for Space Marines suck :( oh well meh.

I'm usually a real lazy painter usually using wet over brushes, drybrushing, and washes. But its time I pulled my finger out and started to put some effort into painting :P

Vulkan He'Stan Part I

It Begins!!

And here is where the blog begins. Like many other people in the hobby, I start one thing, paint for a while, then move on to something cooler. This leaves me with so many unfinished projects around the house. So I have decided to create a couple blogs for my armies and other "works in progress".

I started a Salamander army early this year, but since the news of the impending release of the Imperial Guard and whatnot I have decided to pull out my old Traitor Guard army, fix up the crappy paint job and add more units to the army.

I will also be adding my Chaos Space Marine Death Guard army to the blog as I will be using these guys in allied games with my Traitor Guard (I'm looking at adding some Daemons, mostly Plague bearers when I have the spare money and whatnot too).

Before I started my Salamanders I was a big Ultramarine fan. The army is more an Apocalypse aimed army, based on the Chapter Command and the First Company including: Terminators, Tyranic war vets, Chaplain Cassius, Captain Agemman, Sternguard, Vanguard, Marneus Calgar and a growing squad of Honourguard.
